Hawks reportedly weigh trade options for former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher

The Atlanta Hawks may already be considering a major roster change just days after their first-round playoff exit. According to The Athletic’s John Hollinger, the front office has not ruled out trading forward Zaccharie Risacher, the top selection in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Risacher’s rookie campaign never gained traction. He surrendered his starting spot shortly after the All-Star break and was removed from the rotation entirely in April. Such a rapid decline is rare for a recent No. 1 overall pick, especially one still in his second season.

Atlanta’s early postseason departure at the hands of the New York Knicks has intensified scrutiny of the roster. Hollinger reported that the organization’s primary objective remains getting Risacher back into a consistent role, but a trade becomes the logical alternative if that cannot be accomplished in Atlanta.

The possibility of moving a No. 1 pick so soon underscores how quickly the Hawks could pivot as they attempt to reset following another disappointing finish.
