NEW YORK — New Orleans Pelicans veteran DeAndre Jordan has been voted the NBA’s Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.

The 37-year-old center collected 1,445 points in balloting by 385 current players, narrowly surpassing Portland Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday (1,437 points) and Houston Rockets forward Jeff Green (1,420).

League executives first selected 12 finalists—six from each conference—before the vote went to active players. The honor recognizes selflessness, leadership, mentorship and overall commitment to team play.

Jordan adds the award to a résumé that includes three All-NBA selections, two NBA All-Defensive Team nods, a 2017 All-Star appearance, a gold medal from the 2016 Rio Olympics and a championship ring earned with the Denver Nuggets in 2023.

The Teammate of the Year award, introduced in 2013, is named for former Rochester/Cincinnati Royals teammates Jack Twyman and Maurice Stokes. Stokes was paralyzed after a head injury in 1958, and Twyman became his legal guardian and lifelong advocate.

Other finalists this season were Garrett Temple (Toronto Raptors), Pat Connaughton (Charlotte Hornets), Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), De’Aaron Fox (San Antonio Spurs), Duncan Robinson (Detroit Pistons), Jaylin Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder), Desmond Bane (Orlando Magic) and Marcus Smart (Los Angeles Lakers).
