NEW YORK — Federal authorities intend to file two more criminal counts against veteran NBA guard Terry Rozier, alleging he solicited and accepted a bribe tied to an illegal sports-betting scheme, according to court statements made Monday.

Assistant U.S. attorneys told a federal judge they will seek a superseding indictment that adds sports bribery and honest-services fraud to the two charges Rozier already faces from an October 2025 gambling investigation. A grand jury is expected to review the new accusations.

Prosecutors said the NBA and the Charlotte Hornets, Rozier’s team during the period in question, were deprived of the guard’s “honest services.” Rozier’s attorney, Jim Trusty, told reporters he learned of the additional charges only two hours before Monday’s hearing and reiterated his motion to dismiss the case.

Rozier, 32, spent most of the 2025-26 season on administrative leave after his October arrest and was waived by the Miami Heat earlier this month. The investigation centers on a March 23, 2023 game in which a bettor placed 30 “under” wagers on Rozier-related props within 46 minutes at a Biloxi, Mississippi casino. Similar betting spikes occurred at multiple New Orleans sportsbooks.

That night, Rozier scored five points with four rebounds and two assists in the first quarter before exiting with a reported foot injury and never returning. All 30 under bets cashed, and Rozier missed the season’s final eight games.
