The Sacramento Kings will place Terence Davis on waivers, according to information provided to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Davis, 28, joined the Kings in April and played in the club’s regular-season finale. His contract for 2025-26 carried a non-guaranteed salary of $2,546,675, meaning Sacramento incurs no financial penalty by releasing him.
The shooting guard broke into the NBA with the Toronto Raptors in 2019 and enjoyed his most productive stretch after being acquired by Sacramento at the 2021 trade deadline. He remained a reliable scoring option off the bench for two and a half seasons before spending most of the past two years in the G League.
After rupturing his Achilles during the 2023-24 campaign, Davis returned last season with the Wisconsin Herd, where he averaged 14.3 points and hit 40.2% of his three-point attempts.
Once the move becomes official, the Kings will have 14 standard contracts on the books, including non-guaranteed guard Keon Ellis at $2.3 million. All three two-way slots are filled, and no additional players are currently listed on the offseason roster.
The roster opening could give Sacramento added flexibility amid reported interest in trading for Jonathan Kuminga or signing veteran guard Russell Westbrook.
