San Francisco — Golden State forward Draymond Green doubts head coach Steve Kerr will be back on the Warriors’ bench next fall, just days after Kerr publicly acknowledged his future with the franchise is uncertain.

“I hope he’s our coach next season,” Green said on “The Draymond Green Show.” “You want my opinion? I think not. It felt like that was it.” The episode was released Monday, April 20, three days after Golden State was eliminated in Phoenix.

Following Friday’s loss, Kerr gathered Green and Stephen Curry on the sideline for what could prove a farewell moment. Broadcast microphones recorded Kerr telling the two veterans, “I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but I love you guys to death. Thank you.”

Kerr, 60, told reporters he will take the next week or two to decide whether to seek a 13th season with the team. He, general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and controlling owner Joe Lacob were at the Warriors’ San Francisco facility Monday for player exit interviews, with bigger-picture discussions expected in the coming days.

“I still love coaching, but I get it,” Kerr said after Friday’s game. “These jobs all have an expiration date.”

ESPN reported Monday that Kerr considers his chances of returning at roughly 50-50. Team sources said Lacob wants to hear Kerr express a full appetite for the day-to-day grind and, if he stays, commit to a multiyear contract rather than a one-season “last dance.”

Curry will enter the final year of his deal next season, and both sides are interested in negotiating an extension this summer. Green holds a $27.6 million player option for 2026-27 and admitted on his podcast that he is uncertain about his own status. “I’ve never been so uncertain since earlier in my career in what happens next,” he said. “I also hope I’m on this team next season. Man, if it was, what a run.”
