STORRS, Conn. — Guard Braylon Mullins, projected by some analysts as a potential lottery selection in this year’s NBA draft, will remain at the University of Connecticut for his sophomore season, according to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68.

The 20-year-old captured national attention during March Madness when his deep three-pointer at the buzzer eliminated top-seeded Duke in the Elite Eight. Over 33 games as a freshman, he averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 42.1% from the field and 33.5% beyond the arc.

Goodman reports that Mullins aims to secure guaranteed top-10 status in the 2027 draft and received significant NIL compensation to extend his stay in Storrs. ESPN’s latest top-100 prospects list placed him at No. 17, praising his perimeter shooting and late-game poise while noting scouts’ interest in seeing broader offensive development.

Mullins earned Big East All-Freshman honors this season, and with fewer high-profile prospects expected in next year’s draft class, evaluators believe he could climb the board after another collegiate campaign.
