LOS ANGELES — March 14, 2026 — Forward Rui Hachimura finished the 2025-26 campaign with a franchise-best 44.3% from beyond the arc, establishing a new single-season 3-point percentage record for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 28-year-old capped his record year during the regular-season finale against the Denver Nuggets at Crypto.com Arena. Hachimura surpassed Vladimir Radmanović’s previous mark of 44.1%, set in 2009 when Radmanović appeared in 46 games before a mid-season trade to Charlotte.

Hachimura’s accuracy highlights steady improvement since Los Angeles acquired him in 2023. He has now shot at least 41% from long range in three consecutive seasons, reinforcing his reputation as one of the roster’s most reliable perimeter threats.

The timing of his breakthrough is critical for a shorthanded Lakers squad preparing for the playoffs without injured leading scorers Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves. Head coach Darvin Ham is expected to lean heavily on Hachimura and guard Luke Kennard to create spacing for LeBron James against the Houston Rockets.

Hachimura is entering unrestricted free agency this summer. After a season in which he became the most accurate 3-point shooter in team history, the Lakers are expected to face competition to retain him.

Reflecting on the regular season, Hachimura credited locker-room chemistry for the club’s ability to navigate injuries, lineup changes and trades across 82 games. “We all need each other,” he said following the finale. “This year we had good chemistry to fight through 82 games.”
