The Utah Jazz have secured guard Hayden Gray on a two-year contract, agent George S. Langberg told ESPN’s Shams Charania. The agreement covers the club’s final game of the 2025/26 season and the entire 2026/27 campaign, with no guaranteed money expected for next year.

Gray, 24, entered the professional ranks as an undrafted free agent out of UC San Diego in 2025. He inked an Exhibit 10 deal with the Boston Celtics last July, was waived in September, and spent his rookie year with the G League’s Maine Celtics.

In 48 G League appearances, the 6’4″ shooting guard averaged 9.9 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals across 27.8 minutes, shooting 41.7% from the field, 33.2% from three-point range and 74.4% at the line. As a college senior in 2024/25, he led Division I in steals (3.1 per game) and earned Big West Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Utah had an open roster spot after guard Kennedy Chandler’s 10-day contract expired overnight Friday. Gray will occupy the 15th position, while Chandler re-enters unrestricted free agency.

Gray’s pay for the remainder of this season will hinge on whether he signs Saturday or Sunday and on any amount the Jazz choose to add above the minimum. If he joins Sunday at the rookie minimum, he would earn $7,315. His projected, and likely non-guaranteed, 2026/27 salary is $2,150,917.
