The Miami Heat have converted guard Jahmir Young’s two-way agreement into a standard NBA contract, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.
Young’s agent told Shams Charania of ESPN that the deal spans two seasons. Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald added that Young’s salary for 2026-27 is non-guaranteed.
Moving to the 15-man roster makes the 24-year-old eligible for the postseason. Miami will enter the play-in tournament for the fourth straight year and must win two games to secure the Eastern Conference’s No. 8 seed.
Undrafted in 2024, Young has appeared in 13 NBA games this season, logging 55 total minutes. He has been far more active in the G League, averaging 26.0 points, 8.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals over 25 games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce while shooting 47.1% from the field and 37.6% from three-point range. His G League résumé includes January Player of the Month honors and a spot on the All-NBA G League Second Team.
The Heat created room for Young’s promotion earlier in the day by waiving guard Terry Rozier.
