April 9, 2026 — LeBron James left Chase Center with more than a 119-103 victory over the Golden State Warriors; he also walked away pleased after spotting Stephen Curry wearing a pair of his Nike LeBron X iD sneakers.

Although Curry missed the nationally televised matchup because of knee-injury management, cameras captured him greeting James near the Lakers’ bench while laced in the decade-old model customized in Warriors colors. The gesture did not go unnoticed.

“You’ve got one of the all-time greats ever to rock my kicks, that was super cool,” James told Amazon Prime’s Allie Clifton postgame. “I saw the picture today when he went to Cleveland, he had my first signature kick, and then he had on the 10s today. We made them for him when he was with Nike at the time. Those Golden State colors, they look good on him.”

Curry has rotated through several brands since his endorsement deal with Under Armour ended in November, effectively making him a sneaker free agent. Industry watchers expect multiple companies, including Nike, to pursue the two-time MVP once he decides on a new long-term partnership.

Injury issues have plagued Golden State throughout the 2025-26 campaign, forcing Curry and other starters to miss extended stretches. Without the veteran guard, Los Angeles leaned on James’ all-around performance to secure the road win.

The two superstars, both deep into their NBA careers, continue to draw major audiences whenever they share a court. League officials and fans alike hope the next Lakers-Warriors meeting features both healthy, given the pair’s longstanding rivalry and combined star power.

Earlier this season, Curry publicly praised James’ meticulous approach to conditioning, noting the forward’s commitment as a key reason he remains dominant in Year 23.
