The Los Angeles Lakers have dispatched star guard Luka Doncic to Spain, where he is undergoing an injection designed to hasten the healing of his Grade 2 left hamstring strain, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on “NBA Today.”

Charania said the organization currently expects both Doncic and guard Austin Reaves to remain sidelined indefinitely as the postseason approaches. With the playoffs less than two weeks away, Los Angeles is searching for any measure that could shorten Doncic’s projected four-to-six-week recovery window.

“He’s doing everything he can to make it back on the court,” Charania told the program, noting that medical staff will monitor whether the treatment meaningfully reduces the timetable.

Doncic had been playing at an MVP level before the injury and has already been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season. Reaves is dealing with an oblique issue that is likewise expected to keep him out for an extended stretch, compounding the Lakers’ roster challenges.

The team has not provided a specific update on when either player might return.
