Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said veteran center Nikola Vucevic will be available for Sunday’s home game against the Toronto Raptors, ending a month-long absence caused by a fractured right ring finger.

Vucevic has not played since March 6, when he suffered the injury that later required surgery. Initial estimates projected a three-to-four-week recovery, and the 35-year-old will return just shy of that timeline.

Since arriving from Chicago in a trade last month, the 16th pick of the 2011 draft has appeared in 11 games for Boston, averaging 11.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting .445 from the field, .351 from three-point range and .824 at the free-throw line in 23.5 minutes off the bench.

Overall this season, including his time with the Bulls, Vucevic has logged 60 contests at 29.0 minutes per night, producing 15.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists on .496/.373/.835 shooting splits.

The Montenegrin big man is on an expiring $21.5 million contract and will become an unrestricted free agent July 1 unless he and the Celtics agree to a veteran extension before the new league year opens.
