The Golden State Warriors intend to sign free-agent center Charles Bassey, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Recent NBA Journey

The 6-10 Nigerian big man has spent the 2025-26 season on a string of short-term contracts. He opened the year with a hardship 10-day deal in Memphis, followed by two 10-day stints with the Philadelphia 76ers in January and February. Most recently, Bassey completed a pair of 10-day contracts with the Boston Celtics, becoming a free agent on Saturday when the second pact expired.

NBA Track Record

Bassey, the 53rd overall pick in the 2021 draft, appeared in 113 games for Philadelphia and San Antonio from 2021-25, averaging 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes. This season, he logged eight contests across Memphis, Philadelphia and Boston, posting 2.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per game.

G League Production

While searching for a full-time NBA spot, Bassey delivered standout numbers in the G League. In 20 appearances—17 of them with the Warriors’ Santa Cruz affiliate—he averaged 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks while shooting 60.6% from the field and 42.6% from three-point range.

Contract details and the exact timing of Bassey’s signing with Golden State have not yet been announced.
