The NBA levied a $100,000 fine against the Portland Trail Blazers for making unauthorized contact with draft prospect Yang Hansen in December 2023, the league announced on April 1, 2026.

Along with the financial penalty, assistant general managers Sergi Oliva and Mike Schmitz have been suspended without pay for two weeks. The league determined that the communication occurred before Hansen was eligible to be contacted under NBA draft rules.

In a statement, Portland said it “self-reported to the NBA when this was brought to our attention. The team cooperated fully with the investigation and accepts the league’s determination.”

No further disciplinary measures were disclosed.
