Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown placed two Los Angeles Lakers icons in his ideal lineup of all time, pairing Kobe Bryant and LeBron James with Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry and Bill Russell.

During a conversation with Ahmad Rashad released on March 17, 2026, Brown was asked to identify the five players he would start in an all-time game. The 29-year-old selected:

  • LeBron James
  • Kobe Bryant
  • Michael Jordan
  • Stephen Curry
  • Bill Russell

The choices give the Lakers two representatives, match them with the Chicago Bulls legend Jordan and current Golden State Warriors star Curry, and round out the group with Celtics icon Russell, the NBA’s all-time championship leader with 11 titles.

Brown is in the midst of the best season of his career and currently leads Boston while averaging career highs across multiple categories. His lineup mirrors common fan debates that frequently feature Bryant, James and Jordan, but his decision to include Russell ensures at least one Celtics figure joins the conversation.

LeBron James Still Delivering Highlight Plays at 41

James, now in his 23rd NBA season, continues to draw attention for his athleticism. Speaking on Spectrum SportsNet after a recent Lakers victory, the 41-year-old admitted some of his own plays still catch him off guard.

“There are some plays that I still do at this point in my career where it definitely surprises me for sure,” James said, referencing a first-half dunk and an alley-oop from teammate Austin Reaves.

James remains among the league’s statistical leaders as Los Angeles pushes toward the postseason.
