Forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper, waived by the Dallas Mavericks last week, is expected to join the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-way deal, according to his representatives Todd Ramasar and Mike Simonetta through ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Prosper, 23, reportedly weighed several offers before choosing Memphis, a franchise that had shown interest even before Dallas released him. The Mavericks had explored trade options for the 2023 first-round pick but declined to attach one of their remaining second-round selections, opting instead to waive and stretch his contract over three years to open salary-cap room under the second tax apron and re-sign guard Dante Exum.
During two seasons in Dallas, Prosper appeared in 92 games and averaged 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in limited minutes. He posted stronger numbers with the G League’s Texas Legends, recording 18.3 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting efficiently.
The two-way agreement gives the 6-foot-8 forward a fresh opportunity to convert his G League success into a larger NBA role as the Grizzlies continue to reshape their roster.
