Veteran forward LeBron James is widely anticipated to remain in the NBA for at least one additional season, according to a report by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
League sources told Charania that the 41-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star has not yet decided on his future but is expected to continue playing beyond the current campaign. James will enter unrestricted free agency this summer, marking his first trip to the open market since 2018.
Los Angeles has begun shifting its long-term plans toward a younger core that features Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, leaving James’s status with the franchise uncertain. Whether his potential 22nd season comes with the Lakers or another team remains unresolved.
Despite the uncertainty, the four-time NBA champion is still delivering high-level production deep into his career, maintaining a significant impact in his 21st season.
