Veteran swingman Max Strus is listed as probable and is on schedule to play his first game of the season when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon.

The official NBA injury report released Saturday upgraded Strus, who has been sidelined since undergoing surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot. The 27-year-old has spent the past week ramping up activity, including practice sessions with the G League’s Cleveland Charge, after recent imaging confirmed continued healing.

Cleveland plans to reintroduce Strus gradually, and a minutes restriction is expected for the remainder of the regular season. Since joining the Cavaliers two years ago, he has averaged 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 120 appearances, starting 107 of them.

The Cavaliers enter Sunday’s matchup at 41-26 after defeating Dallas on the road Friday night. The Mavericks arrive in Cleveland with a 22-45 record.

In other injury news for the Cavaliers, Jaylon Tyson is questionable with ankle soreness, while Jarrett Allen, Sam Merrill, Craig Porter Jr. and Tyrese Proctor remain out.

Tipoff at Rocket Arena is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
