Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert said the Oklahoma City Thunder exemplify the attitude his team hopes to adopt.
“I think OKC is actually a great example of what we want to be,” Gobert told The Athletic’s Sam Amick. “I’m not talking about talent. I’m just talking about their mindset.”
Gobert highlighted the Thunder’s consistent effort and team-first approach. “They’re a team that plays hard every night, regardless of who is on the floor, for 48 minutes,” he said.
The Timberwolves have experienced uneven stretches this season but have taken two of three meetings with Oklahoma City. The clubs faced off in last year’s Western Conference finals, and Minnesota is one of only two NBA teams—the Indiana Pacers are the other—to reach the conference finals in back-to-back seasons.
For a Minnesota squad still pursuing steadiness, matching the Thunder’s nightly resolve remains a central objective.
