Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Wednesday on 95.7 FM’s “Willard and Dibs” that Stephen Curry will be out for a minimum of five additional games while he continues to recover from a right knee issue.

Kerr noted that the two-time MVP, who has yet to rejoin practice, is “frustrated and dying to be out there.” According to Kerr, director of sports medicine Rick Celebrini is taking a “methodical” approach, allowing Curry to get shots up but holding him back from full workouts until the knee responds.

Moody could return on road trip

Kerr expressed optimism that guard Moses Moody will come back from a right wrist sprain during the Warriors’ six-game road swing from March 15–23. The fifth-year wing is averaging a career-best 11.9 points and shooting 40.2% from three-point range but will miss his fifth straight contest Friday.

Cryer earning minutes

Two-way guard LJ Cryer has provided a lift during the club’s three-game skid. Over the past four outings, the former Baylor and Houston standout is averaging 11.8 points in 18.8 minutes, hitting 48.0% of his attempts from beyond the arc. Cryer said his rise from “one of the last guys on the bench” in college to a contributor in the NBA reflects patience and behind-the-scenes work.

Green takes blame for costly foul

On “The Draymond Green Show,” veteran forward/center Draymond Green said he “let my team down” by fouling Jalen Smith with one second left in regulation during Tuesday’s loss to Chicago. The Warriors led by two at the time; Smith’s free throws forced overtime, and Golden State eventually fell. “Stuff happens, and we’ve got to move on,” Green added, turning his focus to Friday’s matchup with Minnesota.

The Warriors have dropped three straight without Curry and Jimmy Butler, slipping in the Western Conference standings as they open their extended trip.
