The Memphis Grizzlies have added guard DeJon Jarreau on a 10-day contract, the team announced Friday via social media.

Jarreau, 28, returns to Memphis after spending two 10-day stints with the club in March 2024, when he appeared in nine games and averaged 4.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists over 16.7 minutes per outing. His NBA résumé also includes one appearance for the Indiana Pacers during the 2021-22 season on a two-way contract.

The 6-foot-5 guard signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Grizzlies in October and was waived the same day, subsequently joining the organization’s G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. In 19 games with the Hustle—seven as a starter—he posted 15.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists.

Jarreau has logged 63 total G League regular-season games with the Hustle, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Texas Legends and Capital City Go-Go. Undrafted in 2021, he spent four collegiate seasons at Houston and captured American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2020-21.

Although the team did not specify the mechanism used, the contract appears to be a hardship signing. Memphis brought in Tyler Burton on a hardship 10-day deal Thursday, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (finger) and Zach Edey (ankle) have undergone season-ending surgeries. Nine additional players are listed on the injury report for Friday’s road game against the Detroit Pistons.
