Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is expected to be sidelined for approximately three weeks because of a hand injury, according to the New York Post.
The setback is the latest blow to a 76ers roster that has already endured a series of challenges this season. While specific details of how or when the injury occurred were not disclosed, the three-week timetable would keep Maxey out through much of late March.
Maxey’s absence removes one of Philadelphia’s primary scoring and ball-handling options during a critical stretch of the schedule. The team will have to adjust its rotation as it navigates the final weeks of the regular season without the dynamic guard.
The 76ers did not immediately announce who will step into Maxey’s starting role, nor did they provide additional information on his rehabilitation plan.
