The Los Angeles Lakers delivered one of their most complete performances of the season on Sunday, defeating the New York Knicks 110-97 at Crypto.com Arena. Head coach JJ Redick pointed to consistent “multiple efforts” on both ends of the floor as the decisive factor.
“Tonight there was really one key, and that was multiple efforts,” Redick said after the game. “We sustained that for all four quarters.”
Los Angeles leaned on strong offensive outings from Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves to outlast a Knicks squad that entered the day third in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers also forced several late-game deflections and steals, keeping New York from mounting a comeback.
Redick noted that brief lapses came when the Lakers surrendered consecutive transition three-pointers and struggled to convert open looks. Even so, the team responded with defensive stops that preserved the double-digit margin.
Sunday’s win moved Los Angeles to 15-9 over its past 24 games. Over that stretch, the Lakers rank inside the league’s top 10 in offensive efficiency and top 15 on defense—benchmarks Redick said the coaching staff targeted before the season.
With only 18 games left on the 2025-26 regular-season schedule, Redick emphasized the importance of maintaining the current level of play. The upcoming slate features several playoff contenders, offering what he called “a chance to prove ourselves against quality competition.”
