DENVER — Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is dealing with a left ankle sprain that team officials describe as mild, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. The injury, sustained during the second quarter of Friday’s lopsided loss to the Knicks, forced him out of the game, but he is expected to be listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup in Oklahoma City and is considered day-to-day.

Head coach David Adelman noted after Friday’s contest that Murray typically recovers quickly from ankle issues, a trend that appears to be holding true.

Gordon back after extended absence

Forward Aaron Gordon returned Friday following 17 straight missed games caused by a right hamstring strain. Speaking with The Denver Post, Gordon said his hamstring feels strong after a total of 36 games on the shelf this season due to recurring issues that began on Nov. 21 and were aggravated on Jan. 23. “I play without worry,” he said, adding that his main focus now is regaining timing and pace.

Lakers continue without LeBron

LeBron James missed a second consecutive game Sunday against the Knicks because of a left elbow contusion and ongoing left foot arthritis, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported. On the broadcast, ESPN’s Malika Andrews indicated the foot problem was the larger factor. James is listed as day-to-day.

Pistons upgrade Cunningham

Detroit guard Cade Cunningham, sidelined Saturday in Brooklyn with a left quad contusion, has been elevated to probable for Sunday’s game in Miami, per The Athletic’s Hunter Patterson. Cunningham has appeared in 55 of the Pistons’ 62 games this season. Teammate Caris LeVert remains out with a left wrist sprain.

Bucks rest Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo will not play Sunday against Orlando for right calf injury management on the second night of a back-to-back, The Athletic’s Eric Nehm reported. Forward Kyle Kuzma is listed as questionable with a thoracic spine contusion.

In other notes, Deandre Ayton and Maxi Kleber returned to action Sunday after recent knee and back issues, respectively.
