The undermanned Golden State Warriors came within striking distance of a major road upset on 7 March 2026 before the Western Conference–leading Oklahoma City Thunder closed out a 104-97 victory that doubled as Kristaps Porzingis’ first game back from his recent absence.
Golden State, missing several regulars, kept the score tight throughout the second half and trailed by just a single possession in the closing minutes. Porzingis, reinserted into the lineup after time on the sideline, saw action in the loss but could not push the Warriors over the top.
The Thunder’s late surge preserved their position at the top of the conference standings and sent the Warriors to a narrow defeat despite an energetic effort from the short-handed roster.
