The Sacramento Kings have re-upped guard Killian Hayes on a second 10-day contract, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.

Hayes, 24, joined Sacramento on a short-term agreement earlier this month. During his first five appearances off the bench, he averaged 2.2 points and 3.4 assists in 13 minutes per game, shooting 4-for-27 from the field.

The French-American playmaker was selected seventh overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2020 draft and spent most of his first four NBA seasons with that organization. Since leaving Detroit, he has split time between the G League and brief NBA stints.

The new 10-day contract will keep Hayes on the Kings’ roster through the team’s next five contests. To retain him after that stretch, Sacramento would have to sign him for the remainder of the season.
