Charlotte Hornets prospect Kon Knueppel said his recent three-point accuracy stems from focusing on basketball fundamentals rather than chasing statistics.
“It’s about making the right basketball play,” Knueppel told reporters when asked about his perimeter numbers. “If the shot is there, I’m confident taking it. If not, I’ll move the ball.”
Knueppel, added to Charlotte’s summer roster earlier this month, has drawn attention during team workouts for his consistent range. While coaches have praised the forward’s mechanics, Knueppel insisted his approach remains team-oriented.
“I never go into a game thinking ‘I need to hit a certain number from three,’” he said. “The goal is always to help the group win possessions.”
The Hornets open summer-league play next month in Las Vegas, where Knueppel is expected to see extended minutes on the wing.
