Brooklyn — Grant Nelson made the most of his first game at Barclays Center under his current 10-day agreement, giving the Nets an immediate boost in their 113-105 victory on Monday night.
The 6-foot-10 forward, signed to a short-term deal last week, came off the bench to energize the crowd and help Brooklyn protect a slim fourth-quarter lead. Afterward, Nelson called the opportunity “a dream,” noting that every minute on the floor is another chance to prove he belongs in the NBA.
This marks Nelson’s second 10-day stint with the Nets. Head coach Jacque Vaughn praised the newcomer’s poise, highlighting his rebounding and defensive activity as “exactly what we needed tonight.”
Brooklyn can decide whether to sign Nelson for the remainder of the season once his contract expires later this month.
