ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — Former Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Johnny Juzang has signed with Zenit Basketball Club for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, the Russian team announced Wednesday.

The 24-year-old guard/forward became a free agent after Minnesota waived him 10 days ago upon reaching the 50-game active limit on his two-way contract. Juzang appeared in 21 games this season for the Timberwolves, totaling 88 minutes and seeing most of his action in late-game situations.

NBA Journey

A Los Angeles native, Juzang played one season at Kentucky and two at UCLA before going undrafted in 2022. He spent his first two professional years on two-way deals with the Utah Jazz, then signed a multiyear standard contract in August 2024. Only the first season of that deal was guaranteed, leading to his release in June 2025.

Across four NBA campaigns with Utah and Minnesota, Juzang logged 123 games, averaging 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per contest.

First International Stop

The agreement with Zenit marks Juzang’s first stint overseas. The St. Petersburg club competes in the VTB United League and frequently participates in European tournaments.
