The Golden State Warriors have signed third-year forward Gui Santos to a three-year contract extension worth $15 million, the team announced in a press release.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the deal includes a player option for the 2028/29 season. The agreement secures the 23-year-old Brazilian through at least the 2027/28 campaign unless he exercises that option.
Santos has recently moved into a larger role with veteran forward Jimmy Butler sidelined by a torn ACL. Over his past 12 appearances, Santos is averaging 15.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks in 28.8 minutes per game. He has started 10 of those 12 contests, including the club’s last nine, while shooting 58.8 percent from the field, 43.1 percent from three-point range and 69.2 percent at the free-throw line.
A press release noted that Santos’ new contract takes effect immediately, keeping him under team control as Golden State continues its push through the 2025-26 season.
