Alperen Sengun recorded a dominant triple-double and the Houston Rockets overpowered the Sacramento Kings 128-97 on Monday night.
The third-year center finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, pacing Houston to an early lead that grew throughout the game. Rookie guard Reed Sheppard supplied a career-best 28 points, knocking down seven three-pointers as the Rockets capitalized on a Kings team that has struggled down the stretch of the season.
Spurs extend longest streak since 2016
In San Antonio, the Spurs edged the Toronto Raptors 110-107 to collect their 10th consecutive victory—the franchise’s longest run since the 2015-16 campaign. Devin Vassell scored a team-high 21 points, and six Spurs finished in double figures in a balanced effort that proved just enough in the closing minutes.
Toronto, playing the second half of a back-to-back, kept the game tight despite a shortened rotation. Head coach Darko Rajakovic praised his squad’s intensity and said the Raptors “gave the Spurs a hell of a fight,” noting that Victor Wembanyama was defended as tightly as possible. Rajakovic added that forward Scottie Barnes gutted out minutes despite a quad contusion, a factor that influenced late-game substitutions.
The Spurs’ victory continued their climb up the standings, while the Raptors fell just short after pushing the Western Conference opponent to the final buzzer.
