CHICAGO — Guard Coby White is expected to suit up for the Charlotte Hornets for the first time on Tuesday night when the team visits the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.

The Hornets said Tuesday morning that White, sidelined since a Feb. 4 trade from Chicago because of a left calf strain, has been upgraded to available. The 25-year-old is projected to come off the bench as the primary backup to starting point guard LaMelo Ball.

Ball enters the matchup after scoring 37 points and hitting a career-best 10 three-pointers in Charlotte’s 119-112 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday.

White spent six and a half seasons with the Bulls before the deadline deal. In 29 games for Chicago this season he averaged 18.6 points, 4.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 34.6% from beyond the arc. His last NBA appearance came on Feb. 3, one day before the trade.
