Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic admitted the team’s three-headed attack with LeBron James and Austin Reaves has yet to come together after limited minutes this season.
Speaking following Sunday’s loss to the Boston Celtics at Crypto.com Arena, Doncic said the group is “not there yet” but believes the ceiling remains high. “We’re working on it,” he noted. “There should be big potential with us three playing together.”
James, Reaves and Doncic have shared the floor in only 12 games because of injuries. James missed the opening stretch with sciatica, Reaves sat out roughly six weeks due to a calf strain, and Doncic has dealt with minor issues that forced occasional rest.
Head coach JJ Redick now has all three available and plans to experiment with lineups in an effort to maximize the trio’s scoring, shooting and playmaking skills over the remainder of the regular season.
Reaves also acknowledged the Lakers must cut back on arguing with officials, saying the team cannot allow frustration with calls to affect performance.
