PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns expect guard Dillon Brooks to miss four to six weeks after he broke his left hand in Saturday’s victory over the Orlando Magic, according to sources who spoke to ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday.

The injury compounds a growing list of backcourt absences for Phoenix. On Saturday, the team announced All-Star guard Devin Booker will sit out at least one week because of a right hip strain. Guards Grayson Allen (ankle/knee) and Jordan Goodwin (calf) were also unavailable for Sunday’s matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers.

“The identity doesn’t change,” head coach Jordan Ott said Sunday. “Play the same style. Our defense is going to have to be better, offense is going to have to be better. … We’re just going to have to find new ways as things continue to progress.”

Brooks, a key contributor for the playoff-contending Suns (33-25), is averaging 20.9 points and 3.7 rebounds this season. His scoring average is up 6.9 points from a year ago, the sixth-largest jump among players eligible for the scoring title in both seasons, according to ESPN Research.
