The Los Angeles Lakers announced on Feb. 22, 2026, that Hall of Fame coach Pat Riley will be immortalized with a permanent statue.
Riley, who led the franchise through its “Showtime” era, called the recognition “gratifying” and said he is “grateful” for the tribute. Details about the statue’s design and unveiling ceremony were not immediately released.
Team officials said the monument will celebrate Riley’s impact on the organization and his pivotal role in multiple championship runs during the 1980s.
Further information, including the installation date, is expected to be shared in the coming months.
