The Los Angeles Lakers confirmed they will increase season ticket prices for the 2026-27 NBA campaign, attributing the change to market conditions and heightened demand.

In a statement to ESPN, the team said, “We are adjusting season ticket pricing for next season. The updates reflect the current market landscape and demand.”

Documents shared with ESPN by longtime season ticket holders outline the scope of the hikes:

  • One account holder in the 300 level saw the cost for two seats climb from $6,192 in 2025-26 to $9,035 for 2026-27, following a previous price of $5,494 in 2024-25. The new total represents a 45.9% jump year over year, compared with a 12.7% rise in the last renewal cycle.
  • Online basketball commentator Rob Perez posted on X that seats in his section will cost 14% more next season, with an additional 3% administrative fee applied if the full invoice is not paid upfront.

The pricing shift comes amid significant organizational changes. Last year billionaire Mark Walter completed the purchase of a controlling stake in the franchise, and earlier this week the club hired Lon Rosen as president of business operations, replacing Tim Harris. Rosen said in a statement, “As everyone knows, the economics of the sports business are constantly changing — and they will continue to do so. But, at root, my job is a simple one: figuring out how to do right by our employees and our partners while ensuring that the Lakers continue to provide an unparalleled experience for our fans in Los Angeles and around the world.”

Demand for tickets has surged since the arrival of superstar guard Luka Dončić, and the front office has indicated it will commit additional resources to strengthen the roster around him ahead of the 2026-27 season.
