After dropping 40 points—14 of them in the fourth quarter—in Friday’s victory, guard Anthony Edwards said he sees no ceiling for the Minnesota Timberwolves if they maintain their current edge.
“I feel like if we play every team how we play the best teams in the league, I feel like we’ve got a chance. It always starts with me,” Edwards told The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski.
Conley Ready for Flexible Minutes
Veteran point guard Mike Conley, who re-signed with Minnesota after brief stops in Chicago and Charlotte, told Andrew Dukowitz of Zone Coverage that he expects his playing time to vary as the season unfolds.
“I can be the stop-gap here and there or the pinch hitter when you need me,” Conley said. “I’m prepared for that.”
Reid Eyes Second Sixth Man Award
Reserve center Naz Reid, already the owner of one Sixth Man of the Year trophy, told Chris Hine of the Star Tribune he would welcome another.
“Yeah, for sure. I need another one,” Reid said, adding that winning remains his top priority.
