The Oklahoma City Thunder will continue to play without three key contributors, the club announced Thursday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is still recovering from the abdominal strain he sustained on Feb. 3. The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player will be re-evaluated in approximately one week, keeping him out for at least four more games after missing the final five contests before the All-Star break.

Second-year guard Ajay Mitchell, selected in the second round of the 2024 draft, is on the same timetable. The 23-year-old has missed 11 straight games with an abdominal strain and a left ankle sprain suffered on Jan. 21. He, too, will be re-examined in about a week.

Jalen Williams (right hamstring) faces a longer absence. The 24-year-old forward aggravated the injury during a Feb. 11 win in Phoenix and will be out at least two more weeks, which projects to eight additional games on the sideline. Williams had already sat out 10 games with the original strain, returned for two contests before the break and then reinjured the hamstring. His 2025/26 debut was also pushed back by two surgeries on his right wrist, and he missed the Thunder’s final game before the All-Star hiatus.

Oklahoma City opened the season 24-1 but has gone 18-13 over its last 31 outings. Even so, the defending champions hold the Western Conference’s best record at 42-14, second only to the Detroit Pistons (40-13) league-wide.
