The Philadelphia 76ers are preparing to move two-way forward Jabari Walker to a standard NBA contract and to re-sign veteran guard Cameron Payne for the balance of the 2025-26 season, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.
Walker, 22, has exhausted the game limit on his two-way agreement and has worked his way into head coach Nick Nurse’s rotation. In 34 appearances, he is averaging 3.7 points and 3.1 rebounds across 12.1 minutes while shooting 40.3% from the field.
Payne, 31, spent the final months of the 2023-24 campaign in Philadelphia before heading to the New York Knicks last season. He later signed with the Indiana Pacers in October but was released after preseason play. Over nine NBA seasons, the left-hander has posted career averages of 7.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
The two transactions are expected to be completed in the coming days, giving the 76ers additional depth as they push toward the postseason.
