Dallas Mavericks majority owner Patrick Dumont has no plans to sell the NBA franchise, quelling fresh speculation about a potential takeover bid.

Reporter Marc Stein wrote on X that a source close to the Dumont family said the Dumont and Adelson families “remain fully committed” to both the team and the Dallas community and are concentrating on building a long-term championship contender.

Dumont and the Adelsons purchased controlling interest in the Mavericks from Mark Cuban in 2023, while Cuban retained a 27 percent stake and continued to oversee basketball operations.

In a separate interview Wednesday, Cuban told reporters he has heard from several groups interested in buying the club but said he does not know which investors were mentioned in the latest rumors, according to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

The 2023 sale agreement gives the current owners until December 2027 to repurchase all but 7 percent of Cuban’s holdings. Townsend reported that management intends to buy back at least part of that stake and that Dumont expects to remain involved with the franchise for the foreseeable future.
