INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Composer and former television host John Tesh will play his iconic theme “Roundball Rock” live to introduce Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game, the league announced Wednesday.
The performance marks the first time Tesh has delivered the anthem inside a sports arena, according to the NBA. The game will air on NBC and Peacock, highlighting the league’s return to the network after a 24-year absence.
“Roundball Rock” served as the soundtrack for NBC’s NBA coverage from 1990 to 2002. NBC rejoined the league’s broadcast rotation this season under a new 11-year agreement.
The NBA also confirmed additional entertainment for the weekend. Three-time Grammy winner Ludacris is slated to headline Saturday’s events ahead of the All-Star dunk contest. On Sunday, Grammy winners Brandy and Sarah McLachlan will perform the U.S. and Canadian national anthems, respectively.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game takes place Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
