Indiana Pacers wing Johnny Furphy was helped off the court in a wheelchair after injuring his right leg during Sunday’s road loss to the Toronto Raptors. The 21-year-old landed awkwardly following a dunk late in the first half and was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game with what the club termed “right leg soreness.” Head coach Rick Carlisle said Furphy will undergo imaging Monday in New York to determine the extent of the damage.

Selected 35th overall in the 2024 draft, Furphy has appeared in 34 games this season, averaging 5.2 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 46.6 percent from the field. He has started 20 contests, logging 18.5 minutes per night.

Other notable injury developments

Ivica Zubac, Pacers: Carlisle indicated the newly acquired center is unlikely to debut before the All-Star break as he continues to recover from a Grade 2 ankle sprain suffered in December. “There’s still something there that’s not quite right,” the coach noted, adding the team will wait until the ankle is fully healed.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks: Milwaukee has no plans to shut down the two-time MVP, who is nearing a return from a right calf strain, according to head coach Doc Rivers. “He’s going to play when he’s healthy,” Rivers said, emphasizing that Antetokounmpo is “getting close.”

Collin Murray-Boyles, Raptors: The rookie big man left Sunday’s matchup after re-injuring his left thumb when it was struck during play. He is listed as day-to-day.

Luka Doncic, Lakers: Doncic will sit out a second consecutive game Monday because of a left hamstring strain. Team officials remain optimistic the issue is minor, per multiple reports.

Adou Thiero, Lakers: Out since late December with a sprained MCL, the first-year forward practiced with the G League affiliate Sunday after completing a full-contact “stay-ready” session last week.
