The Memphis Grizzlies are preparing to place 18-year veteran Eric Gordon on waivers, according to reports from Kelly Iko of Yahoo Sports.
Memphis obtained the 37-year-old guard in a recent salary-dump deal with the Philadelphia 76ers that also sent a future second-round pick swap to the Grizzlies. Since the trade, Gordon has appeared in only six games.
Gordon is earning $3.6 million on a veteran minimum contract for 2025-26, carrying a $2.3 million charge against the salary cap. If waived, league rules would allow him to sign with any club except Philadelphia.
Selected seventh overall in the 2008 NBA Draft, the Indiana product has logged 931 regular-season games and averaged 15.2 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds while shooting 43.0% from the field, 37.3% from three and 80.9% at the free-throw line. He has not held a steady rotation role for the past two seasons, leaving questions about potential interest from other teams.
