The Memphis Grizzlies overhauled their roster on Tuesday, trading forward Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz in a surprise eight-player deal completed ahead of the 2026 NBA trade deadline.

Both clubs confirmed the agreement on February 3 but did not immediately release the full list of players or draft considerations included in the swap. League approval is still required before the transactions become official.

Jackson Jr., the No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 draft, had spent his entire career in Memphis before the move. The 6-foot-11 big man now heads to Salt Lake City as the centerpiece of a multi-player package that significantly reshapes each team’s depth chart.

The trade marks the latest bold step for the Grizzlies, who have aggressively retooled their lineup in recent seasons. For the Jazz, acquiring Jackson Jr. adds a versatile front-court anchor as the franchise pushes to strengthen its playoff ambitions.
