The Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday confirmed a three-team trade with the Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls that sends forward DeAndre Hunter to Sacramento and brings guard Dennis Schroder and wing Keon Ellis to Cleveland.

“After careful evaluation and a clearer view of the Eastern Conference landscape, we believe adding Dennis and Keon strengthens our depth, expands our flexibility, and positions us to keep building a championship-caliber team now and into the future,” president of basketball operations Koby Altman said in a statement. “In a season defined by its parity, this move better aligns us for a deeper postseason run.”

Details of the transaction

• Cleveland receives Schroder and Ellis from the Kings.
• Sacramento acquires Hunter from the Cavaliers.
• The Cavaliers also obtain two-way forward Emanuel Miller from the Bulls and waive two-way wing Luke Travers.
