Report: Centers Around NBA Eager to Join Lakers to Play With Luka Doncic

Front-court players across the league are actively seeking opportunities to line up next to Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic, ESPN’s Tim McMahon reported.
“Big men will do back flips to be able to be in that Lakers uniform paired with Luka,” McMahon said, adding that one agent with a movable center “would love to get his guy in L.A.”
Doncic’s elite playmaking has already boosted the production of current teammate Jaxson Hayes, who has emerged as a reliable option at center since arriving in Los Angeles. Hayes enjoys the partnership to the point that he hopes to join Doncic on Slovenia’s national team.
While Hayes and Deandre Ayton have handled most of the minutes in the middle this season, the Lakers are expected to explore upgrades ahead of the trade deadline and again during the offseason, when a deeper pool of centers will become available.
Head coach JJ Redick—briefly Doncic’s teammate with the Dallas Mavericks—recently emphasized that the All-Star guard excels when granted maximum on-court creativity, a trait that continues to attract interest from big men hoping to cash in on Doncic’s passing vision.
