The Washington Wizards have reached an agreement to sign veteran forward-center Skal Labissiere to a 10-day deal, agent Daniel Hazan told ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Labissiere, 29, entered the league as a first-round pick in 2016. He logged 148 regular-season appearances with the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers from 2016-19, averaging 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds across 17.5 minutes per game.

After several seasons away from the NBA—spending time in the G League and Puerto Rico—the former Kentucky standout returned to the league last March on a 10-day contract with Sacramento, making four appearances that marked his first NBA action in more than five years.

This season, Labissiere has been starring for the Capital City Go-Go, Washington’s G League affiliate. Over 26 games, the 6-10 big man posted 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.1 assists in 31.0 minutes, shooting 55.4% from the field, 44.1% from three and 85.7% at the foul line.

The Wizards have carried an open roster spot since their two-for-one trade for Trae Young earlier this month, so no corresponding move is required. If the contract is finalized today, it will run through next Thursday, February 5, though Washington could terminate it sooner to create roster flexibility ahead of the trade deadline.

Labissiere will receive $153,330 during the 10-day stint, while the Wizards will incur a cap charge of $131,970. If signed before Tuesday’s matchup with Portland, he could be active for as many as six games before the contract expires.
