Grizzlies still listening to offers for injured Ja Morant

The Memphis Grizzlies remain willing to entertain trade proposals for All-Star guard Ja Morant, league insider Marc Stein reported. Morant is expected to miss a minimum of three weeks after spraining his elbow, yet the injury has not altered the club’s openness to moving him.
According to Stein, Memphis is seeking a package surpassing the haul Atlanta received in the Trae Young transaction, signaling that the front office is not interested in salary relief or merely serviceable contracts. The organization is said to be focused on securing significant value and upside in any deal.
Morant’s future in Memphis has grown increasingly complicated. His contract extension remains unresolved, and earlier this season general manager Zach Kleiman reportedly backed head coach Tuomas Iisola during a disagreement with the former franchise centerpiece. Stein noted that lingering tension could persist if the guard stays on the roster past the trade deadline.
The 24-year-old has appeared in only 20 games this season, averaging 28.5 minutes—the lowest of his career—but matching his career best with 8.1 assists per contest. While his talent is not in question, the timetable for his return to full health and the overall direction of the team weigh heavily on trade discussions.
No agreement is imminent, yet Memphis continues to field calls as the deadline approaches.
