The NBA on Monday announced the 10 starters for the 2026 All-Star Game, and Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic headlines the list after finishing first in leaguewide fan voting. His selection comes alongside fellow Western Conference starters Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry and rookie Victor Wembanyama.

The Eastern Conference lineup features Jalen Brunson, Jaylen Brown, Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Maxey and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

LeBron James Misses Starting Five

LeBron James, sidelined for the first 14 games of the season, was not voted in as a starter for the first time since 2004, ending a record streak of 21 consecutive All-Star starts. The 41-year-old Lakers forward ranked eighth among Western Conference players in the fan ballot.

How the Voting Worked

Starters were determined through a weighted system: fans accounted for 50 percent of the vote, current NBA players 25 percent and a media panel the remaining 25 percent. The league released full ballot results following the announcement.

  • Doncic: No. 1 in fan votes; No. 6 in Western player votes
  • James: No. 8 in Western fan votes

Doncic Grateful for Fan Support

Doncic, in his first season with the Lakers, thanked supporters after learning he led all players in the fan tally. “A kid from Slovenia can only dream about this,” he said. “I really appreciate all the votes… it’s amazing.”

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game will be played next month, with reserve selections to be announced at a later date.
