The Indiana Pacers plan to bring back center Tony Bradley on another 10-day deal after his initial agreement expired following Saturday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, head coach Rick Carlisle confirmed, according to Circle City Spin reporter Tony East.
Bradley, 26, began the season on Indiana’s standard roster but was waived on Jan. 5, just before his salary would have become fully guaranteed. Three days later, he rejoined the club on his first 10-day contract.
Since returning, the 6-foot-10 big man has appeared in six games and played at least 15 minutes in four of them. He posted 12 points and three rebounds in Saturday’s loss at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Indiana’s frontcourt remains crowded with Jay Huff, Isaiah Jackson and Micah Potter also vying for minutes. Bradley previously played through a fractured thumb in December, while Potter’s strong form at the time contributed to Bradley’s brief release.
The Pacers are off until Monday’s matchup in Philadelphia, when the new 10-day contract is expected to be signed. That agreement would run through Jan. 28 and cover five games.
Under NBA rules, Bradley can sign only one more 10-day contract with Indiana this season. If the Pacers want to retain him beyond that, they must offer a standard contract.
